I am a relatively active Twitter user and my native language is Romanian, because I live in Romania, but I also have a lot of foreing followers. The problem is that I talk to my romanian followers in Romanian and with the other in English. I’m not sure if the Romanian ones are very disturbed, because most of them can speak English, but I’m sure the others are when I’m Twitting in Romanian.

So the idea is Twitter should allow me to group my followers, so I can Twit in english to a public group, that everyone can see and in Romanian for my followers from Romanian.

I’m sure this would be useful for a lot of users and not only for language, but for example a singer would like to Twit his fans about his upcoming concerts and his friends about the club or party he’s going to go tonight. There can be a lot of examples, just use your imagination.

I would really love this feature to be added. What do you think ?

Indeed, this is a great future that twitter should integrate in order to make our life easier. Actually, I lost some followers because of my twits in other language than English, so this obviously seems to be disturbing.

who knows twitter dude read it all the way :P

Hmm, the idea is nice but I am afraid that this might make Twitter (a little bit) complicated. What I love in Twitter is its simplicity that it can be used easily by any people anywhere and anytime.

That’s actually some awesome advice! I really hope that Twitter does that, not even just for the language reasons. It’d be great to sort my Twitter lists by association, industries, etc.

  5. You should continue only in english.

Being able to group your follewers is a great idea. I hope we something like this out of twitter soon.

This sounds like an obvious thing for them to add, I imagine they will soon. It makes too much sense for them not too.

Same here, I tweet in spanish and catalan, and i lost some spanish followers because they couldn’t understand the catalan..
    -.-

I agree. It would be a very appreciated feature. I’m surprised it’s not already there.

Well, in that case you will have to push tweets for a group or followers will have to say they want to only follow you in a certain language.

More than that, I would like a third party auth like flickr has :)

this would be really great suggetion but i think then it will become very complex.so i think its better to keep it as it is…

    Thanks for your valuable advice.

Looks like you got your wish now that Twitter has its new “lists”. :)

  14. It seems that Facebook Groups are just a remnant of the “old” Facebook (pre-Newsfeed). Pages have essentially become the current hub for organizing the way that Groups used to do. I wonder if at some point Facebook won’t merge the two features…

They won’t, because there’s still a bit of difference between the two of them, though basically they are almost the same.
