5 Ways To Improve Your Bounce Rate
Bounce rate is a very important factor for every webmaster, because it shows how many users leave the website after visiting the first page. Everyone wants to have a very low bounce rate and this isn’t always an easy task, but I have some really good tips for you that worked really great for me. One more reason the bounce rate is so important is that if you manage to increase it by 50%, you will literally have 50% more page views on your website and you all know that page views mean conversions, ad sales and money.
Here are the 5 most important methods of improving your bounce rate that really worked for you. Like I’ve told you before, I will not offer any tips on this blog that I haven’t tested myself and worked for me.
1. Quality Content
Writing quality content is the most important factor for a blog’s success and you always need to have this in mind, before anything else. It doesn’t matter how hard do you promote or design a website, if you have poor content. And you can see this very good in your bounce rate. Quality content will always make your readers visit more pages and also return or subscribe to your blog.
2. Clean Design
A clean design doesn’t mean it has to be web 2.0, web 3.0 or web x.0, but it must be easy to use and navigate on. If you make it difficult for users to discover other pages, then there are a lot of chances they will leave it after viewing the first page. Also make sure your website isn’t cluttered with a lot of shiny widgets, ads and dozens of useless elements. Only use a few things that work and remove the other. You have to research and test what works best.
3. Related Content
If someone visits your website and finds quality content along with a clean design, then he might want to read other articles, so you can make it really easy for him to do so. The best way to do it is to place links, preferable with an image, right after the post, so you can make their task very easy. This actually decreased my bounce rate a lot and increased my page views / visit with more than 20%.
4. Links in Posts
After you have enough posts on your blog, then you might be able to link to other posts when writing something. You shouldn’t miss any chance to place relevant links to your older posts, because people might find them interesting and click on them. This method has increased my page views / visit by almost 15%.
5. Featured Content
You have to choose the best 5 to 10 articles from your blog and make a nice list in the header or the sidebar. Don’t forget the thumbnails. If your posts are already popular and a lot of people have read them, then others might be interested too.
