Search engines in the future
I was thinking of how search engines will evolve in the future and wanted to share my thoughts. Currently, the biggest ones ( Google, Yahoo, Live, Ask ) can’t handle spam and TOS breaking websites very good and they are working hard on this, aren’t they ?
And how will they do that, if not using or evolving from Google’s ideas and making bots ‘think’ and surf like humans. Next, i think the bots will need an encyclopedia, a huge one with everything on this world in it. Sounds Science Fiction ? I am sure this will be accomplished in the future, because nowadays technology evolves very fast and almost nothing is predictable. Using that encyclopedia and a very complicated algorithm, the bot can check if the website’s content is real, spammed, copywrited or duplicate and rank the website or ban it. Of course everything is more complicated than this.
Ok, let’s get back to the search engines, they MUST get rid of the spam websites and, as i said before, how else than making bots that think like humans ? When i visit a spammy website, i say ‘shit, this must be excluded from the search engine’s results’ and that’s exactly what the bot has to say and exclude it. Until now, it didn’t seem to work at all, with all those cloaking and spamming, because people always managed to fool search engines. An example is the Moldavian who managed to index 5 billion pages into Google, while Google had a total of 20 billion pages indexed. And it took a bit until he was banned, i am thinking, where was Google staff, spam prevention when 20% of pages indexed by Google where spam made only by one man ?
I wrote this after reading a few blogs and websites i really can’t remember and combined them with my ideas that may sound or be foolish.
